저도 갠적으로는 Nevada Fall까지 산행했으면 좋겠는데 오늘 현재 그곳까지의 trail 상황이 아래와 같습니다.
The Mist Trail from near Vernal Fall Footbridge to the top of Vernal Fall is closed for the winter due to icy conditions and falling ice (access to the top of Vernal Fall is available via the John Muir Trail, which may be snowy). The John Muir Trail is closed from Clark Point to the top of Nevada Fall due to hazardous snow conditions (access to the top of Nevada Fall is available via the upper portion of the Mist Trail).
즉, Happy Isles에서 Nevada Fall까지 가려면 John Muir Trail로 Clark Point까지 간 후에 다시 Mist Trail 로 Top of Vernal Fall부터 Nevada Fall 까지 가는 것이지요. 아시다시피 후반부의 Mist Trail 구간은 일부 횐님들께 힘들 수도 있겠지요. (Nevada Fall 까지 안 가시는 횐님들은 Vernal Fall 에서 쉬고 계시는 것도 한 방법)
위의 trail 상황은 제가 오늘 Yosemite에 다시 전화를 걸어 확인했습니다. 그리고, Clark Point 부터 Nevada Fall 까지의 John Muir Trail 구간은 응달이 많아 아마 5월 들어서야 open 되지 않을까 하더군요.
그리고, 오늘 현재 일기예보로는 23-24 (토-일) 요세미티에 비가 내린다고 하네요. (비가 오면 물론 Mist Trail 구간이 더 어려워지겠지요..) 제 생각으로는 다음주 기온이 많이 올라가니 trail 상황이 바뀔 수도 있고 일기예보도 변동이 생길 수가 있으니 한 며칠 더 기다려 본 후에 최종결정하는 것이 좋지 않을까 합니다만....
