Per request from some BAC members, a beginning mountain biking class/ride is being offered on September 20th (Saturday).

The meeting place will be at parking lot of Arastradero Preserve (circled in RED in map), 1530 Arastradero Rd., Palo Alto @ 8:30am.  The parking lot opens at 8am, and it gets filled pretty quickly; therefore, try to arrive by 8:15am and get set up to ride at 8:30am.

One thing, this will be only "B" of "B&H" (Biking of Bike&Hike).  The focus is to ensure that people that are interested in B&H will have the right skill set for biking.  Biking requires 2 things: 1) physical condition, and 2) technical skill.  Since everyone's stamina has greatly improved over the past year, I am not worried about #1.  So we will be focusing on #2.

Arastradero is one of the beginner friendly trail around the bay area, and yet it offers all the variety of what a mountain biking offers, ie. singletracks, fireroads, switchbacks, climbing, downhill and some fun jumping/trick areas if you desire.  Please keep in mind that although it's a good park for beginner mountain bikers, we will be riding off-road trails which require attention and caution.

Please note that in order to join this ride, you will be expected to already know how to ride a bicycle.

Additionally in order to ensure safety and effectiveness of the training, there will be a set maximum number of participants to 10 people unless there are others who can help monitor and assist.  If there are more people interested in it than the max limit, then I will offer a second one sometime in October.  (Sorry in advance for any inconvenience this might cause to the BAC members).
